Description

Reports to: Manager Finance and Administration

1.     Purpose of the Position:
1.1. To perform supporting accounting duties in the major accounting areas of the company, ranging from transaction analysis and reconciliation. Perform review on all General Ledger Control Accounts.

2.     Key Performance Area
2.1. Maintain the General ledger

2.2. Perform payroll reconciliation and processing.

2.3. Process payment requisitions and payments processing

2.4. Provides support to both internal and external auditors as and when required.

2.5. Maintain an efficient record keeping system that can facilitate easier tracing of accounting records.

2.6. Maintain a Fixed Asset Register.

2.7. Complete and submit VET levy returns and PAYE returns.

2.8. Assists in preparing Annual Statement of Accounts within the agreed timetable, ensuring compliance with the best accounting practices.

3.     Job-related Qualifications & Experience
3.1. Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years’ accounting work experience with at least 1 year experience in the retirement fund industry.

3.2. Reconciliation of General Ledger Control Accounts up to Trial Balance level

3.3. An experience in Fixed Asset Accounting and VAT will be an added advantage.

4.     The incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills and Attributes:
4.1. Knowledge of:

Financial accounting, payroll administration, corporate governance, banking procedures, Tax, and debtors management.

4.2. Skill: Accounting, administration, advising, analytical, evaluation, feedback, interpersonal, report writing and computer literacy.

4.3. Personal Attributes: Accountability, Assertive, emotionally matured, confidentiality, integrity, cultural sensitivity, Methodical, mathematical reasoning, sense of urgency and result orientation.
